Through the technique of the collage and dry-point etching, my work has evolved to geometric abstraction over the last couple of years. The basic material I work with is Mylar polyester (foil). My recent works consist of reduced, monochrome painted lines and surfaces. These are applied to the reflective, transparent polyester(foil) with wide brush strokes and in multiple layers in acryl paint where only the power of the coloured line or plane prevails. Basic principles such as shape, colour, texture and material are examined using a formalistic method. The collages, objects and paintings are created in series. It is a process with many intermediate steps, a continuous cycle of composing, decomposing and restarting. A rejection of realism in favour of spirit.The panels and objects, consisting of the Mylar polyester(foil) and the polystyrene sheet, are low in weight, but constructed in such a way that they can be exhibited as an installation.The presentation is always a reformulated challenge of hanging, stacking are laying down, deprived of a frame with an open structure in interaction with the space. The works are what they are and the viewer observes.
