Bowe Roodbergen
Bowe Roodbergen (NL 1954): “Without frills, even before I connected the word “art” to the things I made, they were stripped of frills. What mattered was that it had to be beautiful, aesthetic, and it was always going to be simple, sleek, minimalist I would say now. Would Heit's straightforward thinking be the basis for this or would it be our shared desire for the Frisian countryside and nature? Both, I suppose. I have now also pared down the color to the extreme, I looked and am still looking for nuances in black: Black. And now also in white. Could that have something to do with this time of less, less, less? It doesn't hurt to be able to distinguish the nuances in black and white. Now more than ever.”

Charlotte Burgmans
Charlotte Burgmans (NL 1965) makes abstract wall reliefs with aircraft plywood, clay and paper. Her compositions are both harmonious and dynamic. By exploring the fundamental elements of form and rhythm, she creates a sense of balance and clarity that is both calming and energizing. Her work is characterized by clean lines, simple patterns and order. She uses a limited color palette, exploring different shades of a single color. Her wall objects are created with an enormous dose of patience. She incorporates hundreds of wafer-thin elements into a design, creating a play of shadow and light.
