Education

Grace Wychowanska studied drawing and painting at the Academy of Art in Rotterdam ( The Willem de Kooning Academy ) – The Netherlands (1983 – 1988) and the Philosophy of Art at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

Since 1987 she has had regular exhibitions of her work.

Time and Space – there is where she tries to find her answers.

Her personal recollections of events and situations are to be found in her collages, drawings, paintings and photographic work. Colors and shapes which make her think of some event become two dimensional forms in her compositions and sometimes change proportions and density. Grace Wychowanska’s works are geometric in character. Constructivism, Minimalism and Concrete Art are the sources of inspiration.

There are two important themes that are to be found in her work: architecture and the fourth dimension.

– Tijd en tijdgeest zijn noties waar Grace op een eigen manier invulling aan probeert te geven. Persoonlijke herinneringen aan gebeurtenissen of aan bepaalde plaatsen zijn daarbij de uitgangspunten voor een process dat uitmondt in collages, tekeningen en schilderijen. De werken van Grace Wychowanska zijn geometrisch van karakter. Constructivisme, Minimalisme en Concrete Kunst zijn de inspiratiebronnen.

Treugkerende ondewerpen in Wychowanska’s werk zijn: architectuur en vierde dimensie.
